Garlic

Your Backyard Garden Place

Planting garlic in Indiana.

Did you know that the best time to plant garlic in Indiana is in the fall?

The garlic you plant in the fall can be harvested the following summer. You should plant garlic in in mid to late October in a well-drained soil with full sun.

Plant the cloves 2 inches deep and allow 4 inches between each plant. When planting the clove place tip end up.

Once you harvest the garlic in the summer you will need to hang the bulbs in a warm/dry place out of direct sunlight.
